• 2016 First Team Freshman All-SEC Tight End, Athlon Sports

As first-year contributor, Pinkney played in every game, providing Commodores with quality receiving threat at tight end position... Earned six starts, including the first of his career in opener against South Carolina... Concluded the season with team's top receiving tight end, hauling in 22 catches, good for 274 yards and two touchdowns, earning Freshman All-SEC honors from Athlon Sports... Posted multiple catches in seven games, including four of the team's final games... Registered seasons highs with five receptions and 50 receiving yards in win over Tennessee State... Played key role as receiver in late-season wins over Ole Miss and Tennessee, combined for 83 receiving yards against those SEC rivals... Contributed touchdown catches against TSU and Auburn.

Pinkney looked to have a bright future at tight end before injuries quickly curtailed his true freshman campaign... After working his way into a playing role after an impressive preseason camp, Pinkney suffered a season-ending injury in the opener against Western Kentucky.
