"This school is going to miss Earl's leadership as a student and athletic abilities on the field. You are talking about an outstanding young man who can get it done on the field. "He was so versatile for us. Whenever I needed a big play, on offense or defense, Earl would come through. Whatever our coaches asked of him, Earl was able to help our team. Vanderbilt's football team is getting an outstanding young man and super football player."
