HEAD COACH PETE BENDORF
"Great family, great kid, great character. It has been my pleasure to coach Andre and I know Vanderbilt's staff will feel the same way.
"Andre was our starting free safety and did everything we asked of him at a very high level. As a safety, he was extremely physical, but his finest characteristic may well be the level of intelligence he brings to a football team.
"Andre has superb instincts and knowledge of defensive schemes. He'd watch film, quickly pick up formulations and tendencies, and realize what we wanted to achieve on defense. He was absolutely a coach on the field.
