Fuller, Bright sweep SEC awards
Dec. 10, 2012
It is Fuller and Bright's first awards, and the first time since January 7, 2008, that the Commodores swept the league's weekly honors. That week, Shan Foster won the Player of the Week and A.J. Ogilvy claimed Freshman of the week. Monday's announcement was the second time Vanderbilt has swept the honor. Fuller, a junior guard from Moreno Valley, Calif., set a new career high in scoring with 25 points at Xavier on December 6 at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati. Twelve of Fuller’s points came in the overtime period, and his 12 points accounted for all of the Commodores’ scoring in overtime. He also added three steals, which set a new career high, and his totals of eight field goals and seven free throws made were also career bests.
Fuller, Bright, and their Commodore teammates return to the floor this Saturday night at Memorial Gym when they take on Alabama A&M at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for the game and can be purchased by calling 615-322-GOLD or visiting vucommodores.com.
