One day after Vanderbilt had three players selected among the first 31 picks in the 2012 NBA Draft, Head Coach Kevin Stallings met with the Nashville media to discuss the draft selections.
"(I'm) very excited for those three guys first of all, very excited for our basketball program and our university," Stallings said. "I think it was a great night for Vanderbilt and certainly a great night for Vanderbilt basketball.
"It just kind of shows you when you have talent and you have a great attitude and great work ethic, you will have good things happen to you. Those three guys have worked their butts off and been great citizens, and we are very, very proud of them and happy for them."
Former Vanderbilt guard John Jenkins was the first off the draft board, going No. 23 overall to the Atlanta Hawks. Center Festus Ezeli was the final pick of the first round, going No. 30 overall to Golden State and forward Jeffery Taylor heard his name called just one pick later at No. 31 to Charlotte.
It marked just the second time in school history that three Vanderbilt players were selected in the same draft. The two first-round selections were also a first for Vanderbilt's program.
