A.J. Astroth to transfer

April 29, 2013

Freshman guard A.J. Astroth has decided to transfer from the Commodore men's basketball team after completing one season in Nashville.

"AJ is a very fine young man and a very good player as well," said Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings.  "In addition to that, he has also excelled in the classroom. However, he is looking for an opportunity to play more and we understand that. We wish him the best as he continues his playing and educational career."

The 6'6 Tampa, Fla., native played in nine games in 2012-13 and averaged 0.4 points and 0.6 rebounds per game.
