Two signees in Vanderbilt’s 2018 signing class, Darius Garland and Simisola Shittu, will participate in the Boys McDonald’s All-American Game this Wednesday night in Atlanta, Ga. in one of the nation’s elite high school basketball postseason events. Garland and Shittu are among 24 of the best high school basketball players named to the game and will be the first two Vanderbilt signees to ever compete in the contest.
Garland will suit up for the East squad, while Shittu will wear the West uniform. Shittu will not participate in the game due to a knee injury he suffered earlier this season. Garland and Shittu will also participate in the Jordan Brand Classic April 8 in Brooklyn, N.Y. at the Barclays Center, with Garland heading to USA Basketball’s Nike Hoops Summit on April 13 in Portland, Ore. after the Jordan game.
The McDonald’s All-American Game will be played at 6 p.m. CT at Phillips Arena and be televised on ESPN.
