Vanderbilt is 8-5 all-time against Mississippi State, and has played the Bulldogs in the last two tournaments - MSU knocked off Vanderbilt, 62-52, in the 2010 semifinals, and the Commodores defeated the Bulldogs, 87-81, in the quarterfinals of last year's tournament in Atlanta.
The Commodores swept two meetings with Georgia this season, and lost an overtime decision to Mississippi State at Memorial Gym in the teams' lone meeting this year.
