The 24th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores begin the second half of their Southeastern Conference regular season schedule with a visit from Georgia Saturday at 6 p.m. The game will be televised by FSN South.

Vanderbilt (15-7, 5-3 SEC) has won five of its first eight league games for the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign, including a 4-1 ledger against ranked SEC opponents. The Commodores enter Saturday looking to extend their current nine-game homecourt win streak at Memorial Gymnasium, including three straight against league foes.

Vanderbilt saw its school record five-game win streak against ranked opponents end Wednesday when top-ranked Florida rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to earn a hard fought 74-64 victory over the Commodores. Derrick Byars led Vanderbilt in scoring for the sixth time in its last seven games with a game-high 21 points. Shan Foster and Ross Neltner added nine points each.

Georgia (13-7, 5-3 SEC) suffered an 82-71 setback at Tennessee on Wednesday. Sundiata Gaines led the Bulldogs with a team-high 21 points and seven rebounds.

Georgia has won three of its last five games since posting an 85-73 victory over Vanderbilt in Athens on Jan. 13. Levi Stukes netted a team-high 23 points and four 3-pointers in the Bulldog victory. Byars had 23 points and five 3-pointers for Vanderbilt.
