Vanderbilt travels to Knoxville this Tuesday night to take on in-state rival Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena. The game will tip at 6 p.m. CT, and can be seen on ESPNU. Series Information About Tennessee and the Series
'Dores Three-Point Streak Still Intact Vanderbilt has made a 3-pointer in 850 consecutive games, a streak which began at the inception of the 3-point line in 1986-87. The Commodores rank second only to UNLV for the longest streak in Division I basketball. Vanderbilt, UNLV and Princeton are the only three schools in college basketball to have made at least one 3-pointer in every game played since the 3-point line was implemented. Commodore Bench Success The Commodores scored 30 bench points against Auburn on January 23, the most for a Vanderbilt team since VU scored 35 bench points against Bucknell on November 15, 2011. In the last three games, Vanderbilt has averaged 24 bench points per game. Kedren Johnson Ranks In Several SEC Categories Sophomore point guard Kedren Johnson, who leads the Commodores in scoring, is in the top 10 in the SEC in several categories, including:
Scoring - 8th (14.9) Johnson is also the most improved scorer in the SEC from last season, when he averaged 3.1 points per game. Kevin Bright Thrives Off The Bench Freshman guard Kevin Bright has truely been a "bright" spot after being removed from the starting lineup four games ago. In the last four games coming off of the bench, he is averaging 10.0 ppg and is shooting 14-29 from the floor (48.3%) and 12-24 (.500) from beyond the arc. Bright is fourth in the SEC in league games only in 3FG% at 44.4%, and is making two threes per game in conference games.
