About Ole Miss and the Series

  • Ole Miss enters Tuesday's game with a 13-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference play after wins over Tennessee and Missouri in their first two games.  Marshall Henderson leads the team in scoring with 18.6 points per game, while post man Murphy Holloway averages a double-double with 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
  • The Commodores lead the all-time series, 74-39, including a 47-5 mark in games played in Nashville.  VU has won six straight at Memorial Gym, dating back to 2001, and five straight overall in the series.
  • VU knocked off the Rebels, 65-53, in the semifinals of the 2012 SEC Tournament in the last two meetings between the two teams.

Commodores Begin SEC Season 0-2

The Commodores dropped their second SEC contest at Arkansas on Saturday in a 56-33 loss to the Razorbacks.  Freshman Sheldon Jeter scored eight points to lead Vanderbilt, with sophomore James Siakam leading the team in rebounding with seven.

Vanderbilt shot 25% from the floor and turned the ball over 26 times against Arkansas.

'Dores Three-Point Streak Still Intact

Vanderbilt has made a 3-pointer in 846 consecutive games, a streak which began at the inception of the 3-point line in 1986-87. The Commodores rank second only to UNLV for the longest streak in Division I basketball.  Vanderbilt, UNLV and Princeton are the only three schools in college basketball to have made at least one 3-pointer in every game played since the 3-point line was implemented.
