NASHVILLE, Ten. (AP) -- A.J. Ogilvy scored 22 points and had eight rebounds in Vanderbilt's 68-49 win over Furman on Monday.

Ogilvy, who scored six points in a 17-4 second-half run to break open the game, was 6-for-8 from the field and 10-for-13 from the foul line.

"I think tonight was a combination of looking inside and passing well," noted Ogilvy. "I can't make a good shot and draw fouls in the paint if I don't have a good pass, and there were a lot of great assists tonight. We just made their defense move around."

It was Ogilvy's third straight game with at least 20 points, the longest such streak of his career.

Jermaine Beal added 15 points, and Jeffery Taylor had eight points and five rebounds for the Commodores (9-3).

"Obviously, he's improved dramatically as a shooter," Kevin Stallings, VU head coach, remarked about Beal. "He had 15 points on six shots. That's a good return on shots.

"A.J. got 22 points on eight shots, but he got to the foul line a lot. Those two have been steady for us."

Vanderbilt committed a season-low six turnovers and outrebounded Furman 37-30. The Paladins (1-8) committed just eight turnovers.

"Vanderbilt's size definitely affected us tonight," Jeff Jackson, Furman head coach, said. "Beal did a good job of shadowing our perimeter players and playing physical defense on them."

Furman trailed 32-23 at halftime, but got only as close as eight over the final 20 minutes.

Jordan Miller led the Paladins with 11 points.
