    Vanderbilt 72, Mississippi State 31

    The Commodores started Rod Odom, Josh Henderson, Kedren Johnson, Kevin Bright, and Dai-Jon Parker for the second consecutive game and for third time this season (1-2).

    Vanderbilt's win was its largest margin of victory in SEC play since 41-point win over Kentucky on February 12, 2008.

    Fewest points allowed since Alabama scored 31 points in a 36-31 Vanderbilt win on January 24, 1949.

    Vanderbilt out rebounded Mississippi State, 51-17, its largest rebounding margin of the season.

    The Commodores had 20 offensive rebounds and out scored MSU, 24-0, in second chance points.

    Mississippi State only had seven made baskets in the game (7-40, 17.5%), and two made threes (2-19, 10.5%). The shooting percentages were a defensive best for VU this year.

    The Commodores made 28-61 from the floor for a 45.9% clip. Vanderbilt made 11-31 of three point attempts (35.5%), and was 5-7 from free throw line (71.4%).

    VU had 19 assists on 28 made field goals. The 28 made field goals tied a season high (Nichols State, 11/10/12).

    The Commodores scored 70 or more points in consecutive games for the first time this season.

    Three Commodores scored in double figures - Kevin Bright with 15 points, Rod Odom with 13, and Sheldon Jeter with 11.

    Bright made a career high five three pointers (5-6).

    Jeter added nine rebounds in addition to his 11 points.

    Sophomore guard Dai-Jon Parker scored only five points, but had a career high 13 rebounds and six assists, respectively.

    Walk-on freshman guard Carter Josephs scored the first two points of his career.
