NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A.J. Ogilvy and Jermaine Beal combined to score 46 points, including 28 in the second half to propel the Commodores to a 95-87 win over Florida in the Southeastern Conference opener.

VU had four players finish in double figures, led by Ogilvy's 24. Beal chipped in a season-high 22 points while Jeffery Taylor and John Jenkins added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Andre Walker posted an excellent all-around effort with eight points, 10 rebounds, and career-high seven assists.

With the win, Vanderbilt improves to 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the SEC. The loss drops Florida to 11-4 and 0-1 in league play.

The 95 points scored against Florida marks the highest point total against the Gators since the `Dores recorded a 105-85 win over the Gators in Nashville during the 1979-80 season.

Vanderbilt got the Gators into foul trouble and outscored them 20-8 off turnovers.

Kenny Boynton had a career-high 28 points for Florida. Erving Walker also had a career-best 22. Alex Tyus added 12, and Dan Werner 11. Vernon Macklin and Chris Murphy each fouled out with more than six minutes remaining.
