Evans, a 6’2 guard from Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas, was the number 16-ranked prospect in the state of Texas and 247sports.com ranked him as the 11th-ranked combo guard nationally at the end of his junior season.
 He chose the Commodores over Purdue, Northwestern, and Kansas State.

High School
Four-year starter and captain who averaged 32.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 3.2 steals, and 2.0 blocks as a senior at Bellaire, where he played for coach Bruce Glover.
