2011-12: Brad Frederick is in his 13th campaign at Vanderbilt after joining Kevin Stallings' first Commodore coaching staff in 2000, and is the dean of assistant coaches in the Southeastern Conference.
Prior to his arrival with the Commodores, Frederick played three seasons as a reserve forward at North Carolina, including the final season of legendary coach Dean Smith's career and the two-year coaching tenure of Bill Guthridge.
"That's one reason I went to North Carolina," Frederick said. "I wanted to learn from Coach Smith. Besides teaching me numerous things on the basketball court, he also showed me how to run a program."
As a Tar Heel, Frederick was part of two Final Four teams and two ACC Championship teams. He was the recipient of the team's Rick Sharp Award, which goes to the player who contributes the most behind the scenes. As a senior at UNC, Frederick also served as an assistant coach for the North Carolina junior varsity program under former Tar Heel great Phil Ford.
Frederick won the Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete award twice during his junior and senior year and graduated with honors in political science and history.
Frederick, 34, is married to Jocelyn Isenburg of Longmeadow, Mass. They are the proud parents of Benjamin Robert (3) and Carson Avery, who was born on September 10, 2010.
