The Commodores continue fall practice with the club participating in a four-inning scrimmage Thursday afternoon at Hawkins Field.
Freshman right-hander Tyler Beede pitched a pair of scoreless innings giving up a single to junior Jack Lupo and striking out one.
Sophomore lefty Kevin Ziomek turned in two innings on the mound fanning three and allowing one run on two hits.
Fellow Sophomore Stephen Rice was sharp in his two scoreless innings of work recording three strikeouts.
Freshman southpaw Nevin Wilson impressed with four strikeouts over his two innings issuing a pair of walks and allowing a run.
At the plate, sophomore Joel McKeithan pushed a run across with a bases loaded, squeeze bunt and later doubled. McKeithan also flashed his defensive skills at shortstop and third base.
Sophomores Spencer Navin and Tony Kemp each contributed singles along with Junior Andrew Harris. Sophomore D.J. Luna laced a single into left field to score a run off Wilson in his second inning of work.
Freshman John Norwood displayed his speed beating out a bunt for a base hit late in the scrimmage. Freshman Connor Castellano knocked in a pair of runs with a double in the final frame of the scrimmage.
The Commodores shifted defensively throughout the scrimmage with several Dores logging time at multiple positions.
Sophomore Conrad Gregor and freshmen Will Cooper and Zander Wiel all saw time at first base. Three players rotated at catcher with sophomores Josh Lee and Navin joining freshman Chris Harvey behind the plate. Senior Drew Fann missed the scrimmage due to class.
McKeithan saw time at third base and shortstop as did freshman Vince Conde. Castellano picked up reps at second and third base.
Senior Riley Reynolds played second and third base.
