Nashville Regional set to start Friday

Nashville, Tenn. - Vanderbilt will host Oregon, Clemson and Xavier in the Nashville Regional beginning Friday.

No. 2 seed Oregon and No. 3 seed Clemson will open the tournament at noon at Hawkins Field on Friday. No. 1 seed Vanderbilt plays No. 4 seed Xavier at 7 p.m. in the first round of the tournament. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Commodores have not played Xavier since 2008 and are 4-2 all time vs. the Musketeers. Vandy has played Oregon each of the last two seasons, winning two-of-three in Eugene, Ore. last season after the Ducks swept the Dores in 2012 at Hawkins Field. Vanderbilt is 1-1 against Clemson all-time but has not played the Tigers since 1986. Head coach Tim Corbin served as an assistant under Clemson head coach Jack Leggett for nine seasons before coming to Vanderbilt.
