Baseball vs. Georgia cancelled
May 2, 2010
NASHVILLE--- The final two games of the Vanderbilt-Georgia baseball series have been cancelled due to torrential rain and flooding in the middle Tennessee region.
The games will not be made up per Southeastern Conference rules. Vanderbilt won the first game of the series, 17-5, on Friday night.
The teams started game two of the series two hours and 27 minutes late on Saturday night and got three and a half innings in before rain caused the game to be delayed and eventually suspended with the Bulldogs holding a 4-2 lead.
Tickets purchased for the final two games of the series will be good for remaining games on the 2010 regular home schedule. Fans who purchased these tickets should call the ticket office at (615-322-GOLD) beginning on Monday to arrange for the best available seating. All group orders should have their group leader call their designated Vanderbilt Group Sales representative.
The Commodores are now 33-12 overall and 10-9 in SEC play, while the Bulldogs are 13-30 and 3-16 in league play.
VU will take the week off while the student-athletes take finals and will be back in action next weekend at LSU. The series begins next Friday at 7 p.m.
