VANDERBILT RE-VU Vanderbilt dropped its first midweek game of the season Wednesday at Middle Tennessee State 4-1. The Blue Raiders scored three in the first and never looked back. The Commodores held off Auburn 8-6 on Sunday to finish Vandy's third sweep of the season. Conrad Gregor drove in three runs and Tony Kemp and Mike Yastrzemski each had three hits. Vanderbilt clinched the series with an 8-1 win over Auburn on Saturday. Tyler Beede turned in 6.2 scoreless innings for his fifth win and Joel McKeithan drove in a career-best three runs. The Commodores opened Southeastern Conference play with a 5-2 win at Auburn. Kevin Ziomek tossed 6.1 no-hit innings en route to his fifth win. Connor Harrell and Conrad Gregor each hit home runs to provide the offense.

1-2 PUNCH Starting pitchers Kevin Ziomek and Tyler Beede have formed a potent 1-2 punch for the Commodores. The two are a combined 10-0 in 10 starts with an amazing 0.88 ERA. The duo has 82 strikeouts in 71.1 innings. Both pitchers took no-hit bids into the seventh inning last weekend at Auburn with both bids ending with one out in the seventh.
GET THE BUNT DOWN Vanderbilt has 28 sacrifice bunts this season, tied with Texas A&M for the most in the SEC. The Commodores dropped down seven sacrifices last weekend at Auburn. Jack Lupo leads the league with 11 sac bunts.
GATOR WRESTLING Vanderbilt hosts Florida this weekend for the first time since 2011 when both teams entered the weekend ranked in the top 10. The Gators swept VU in Gainesville last season but the Commodores beat Florida twice in the SEC Tournament en route to the championship game. Vanderbilt is 66-125-1 against the Gators ina series dating back to 1927.

An incredible five-run ninth inning propelled the Vanderbilt baseball team into the SEC Tournament championship game with a 8-6 victory over Florida Saturday at Regions Park.
