ON THE BUMP

RHP Walker Buehler (2-0, 2.14) vs. LHP Jordan Cooper (1-1, 6.43)
BUEHLER'S DAY ON
Freshman Walker Buehler makes his fifth career start Wednesday night. Buehler walked eight batters in his first career start against Central Arkansas but has walked eight over his last three starts combined. The right-hander has earned the win in his last two outings allowing one run on seven hits with 11 strikeouts over 12 innings. Buehler matched his career-high with seven strikeouts his last time out against Buffalo last week at Hawkins Field.
Tony Kemp has been red hot over the last two weeks for the Dores going 16-for-30 (.533) with at least one hit in seven of the eight games. The junior has scored eight runs while driving in six more from the top spot in the lineup. During the stretch he has six multi-hit games, including three three-hit games, to push his team-best total to 11 multi-hit games in the team's first 21 games. Kemp had 14 multi-hit games all of last season.
FLIPPING THE SWITCH
Conrad Gregor has been a consistent bat in the VU lineup having hits in 17 of the Commodores' 21 games. Last weekend the junior flipped the power switch belting his first home run of the year in his first at-bat on Friday at Auburn and followed up with his fourth double of the season on Saturday. As a finale on Sunday, Gregor drove in a season-best three runs to help the Commodores to a series sweep of the Tigers.
The Commodores' lineup has seen some shuffling through the team's first 21 games except for three spots in the batting order. Lefty bats Tony Kemp, Conrad Gregor and Mike Yastrzemski have locked down the one, three and five spots in the order starting all 21 games.
RETURN OF THE Mc(KEITHAN)
Since returning from a leg injury, Joel McKeithan has been solid for the Commodores at shortstop. McKeithan is 5-for-15 over six games, including five straight starts. The junior shortstop knocked in a career-high three runs in the Dores' 8-1 win over Auburn on Saturday.
TAKING ON THE BLUE RAIDERS
Vanderbilt leads the all-time series against Middle Tennessee State 89-41 dating back to 1926. The Commodores have won seven straight against the Blue Raiders dating back to 2009. The last time the Raiders topped the Dores was in the Louisville NCAA Regional in 2009.
