His 15 strikeouts set a new career-high and are the most by a Vanderbilt pitcher since Sonny Gray struck out 15 against Brown in 2011.
The lefty struck out at least one batter in eight of nine innings and struck out two or more in six innings, including the ninth. Eight of the 15 strikeouts were looking.
He did not allow a hit after the first inning and allowed only one base runner with no runners reaching third base in the game.
Retired the final 10 batters he faced and 22 of the last 23 batters.
The junior now has two outings this season with at least 11 strikeouts and leads the Commodores with 33 strikeouts in 22 innings.

The team's pitching led the way during the week allowing only four earned runs over 46 innings (0.78 ERA) while striking out 52 batters and allowing opponents to hit a paltry .174...
