No. 13 Vanderbilt posted a perfect 5-0 week, outscoring Presbyterian and UMass-Lowell a combined 61-7… The Commodores hit .348 for the week, averaging 12.2 runs and 12.6 hits per game… Vandy posted an impressive .995 fielding percentage while committing just one error… Commodore pitching limited the Blue Hose and River Hawks to a .190 batting average while posting a 1.20 ERA… 10 different pitchers did not allow a run including starters Maddux Conger, Drake Fellows and Jake Eder… Freshmen Austin Martin and Pat DeMarco combined to go 7-for-9, contributing more than half of the team’s hits (12) in Tuesday’s 7-1 win vs. Presbyterian… Vandy held Presbyterian to five hits with starter Maddux Conger tossing five scoreless innings, scattering three hits while fanning five and walking two … Philip Clarke launched a three-run home run in the first inning on Wednesday to set the tone and Vanderbilt pitching was masterful throughout in a 15-2 victory against Presbyterian… Vandy swiped six bases, its most since stealing seven on May 19, 2016, against Auburn and scored in six different innings… Jake Eder permitted just one hit in four innings while fanning four batters in his collegiate debut… Vanderbilt impressed from start to finish, scoring five runs in two different innings while a trio of arms displayed their dominance in a 15-0 victory against UMass-Lowell on Friday… The Commodores scored 15 runs for a second-straight game and received 13 hits from nine different batters in the team’s fourth-consecutive victory… Vandy set new a new season-high for RBIs (14) and cashed in on 14 walks from UMass-Lowell pitching…. After putting the first two UMass-Lowell batters of the game aboard, Vanderbilt starter Drake Fellows notched three-straight strikeouts en route to retiring 14 consecutive River Hawks hitters… Ethan Paul belted a grand slam and Vanderbilt scored 10 runs in the fifth inning to highlight a 15-2 victory against UMass-Lowell on Saturday afternoon… The Commodores struck for seven hits in the fifth with Austin Martin and Paul each providing multiple base knocks in the frame. The 10 runs were the most for a Commodore team in an inning since producing as many vs. Radford on June 1, 2015 … Jayson Gonzalez tagged two home runs, becoming the first Vandy player since Will Toffey (June 5, 2017) to accomplish the feat… Vanderbilt broke a deadlock with a three-run home run from Stephen Scott in the sixth inning and rode a pair of steady pitching performances to a 9-2 victory against UMass-Lowell on Sunday afternoon… The win solidified the three-game sweep for the No. 13 Commodores and moved the team’s winning streak to six games… Vanderbilt went a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases and finished one shy of matching a Hawkins Field record… UMass-Lowell took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out single from Michael Young but only produced a pair of hits the remainder of the way… Starter Chandler Day permitted three hits and two runs while walking one and fanning six in a no decision… Tyler Brown took things the rest of the way to pick up the win, tossing the final four scoreless frames while allowing just a leadoff single in the ninth inning… The Commodores close out their 10-game homestand this week with a Tuesday matchup against Austin Peay and Wednesday with a visit from Indiana State… Vandy heads to Houston this weekend to take part in the 18th annual Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park… The Dores take on Sam Houston State on Friday, Louisiana on Saturday and Houston on Sunday.
