Vanderbilt improved to 7-0 on the season with four wins during the week, opening the season 7-0 for the fifth time under Head Coach Tim Corbin and the first time since 2011... The Commodores won the home opener 5-1 on Wednesday against crosstown rival Lipscomb... Starter Walker Buehler picked up his first win of the season with five innings of work giving up one unearned run on four hits with six strikeouts to run the Dores' starting pitcher's streak of not allowing an unearned run to 21.1 innings to open the season... Zander Wiel paced the offense with a pair of hits and three RBI... VU exploded for the team's best offensive showing of the season on Friday in the Commodores' 14-1 win over Illinois-Chicago... The Dores pounded out 19 hits in the win with 10 different Dores registering at least one hit and six posting multi-hit games... Dansby Swanson, Bryan Reynolds and Chris Harvey all posted three-hit games with Harvey driving in two runs... Tyler Beede earned the win allowing only a first inning solo home run and striking out a career-best 11 over six innings... Vanderbilt posted the squad's second straight Saturday shutout behind Jared Miller and Carson Fulmer in a 2-0 victory vs. UIC... Miller was fantastic with a career-best seven innings and six strikeouts... The big lefty scattered four hits with no walks before handing the ball to Fulmer, who fanned five in two innings to notch his second save in as many appearances this season... The VU offense rallied for two runs in the seventh on four hits - back-to-back, RBI-singles from Vince Conde and Rhett Wiseman proved to be the difference... The Dores finished off their second straight sweep on Sunday with a 12-1 win over the Flames... The Vandy offense was relentless with 13 hits on the day and scoring in seven of eight at-bats...
