Nashville, Tenn. - The Commodores lead the nation with four players on Baseball America's preseason All-America teams with juniors Spencer Navin, Conrad Gregor, Tony Kemp and Kevin Ziomek earning the honor.

For Gregor, it is the third preseason All-America honor with the slugger garnering the same status from Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game. Gregor, a second team selection, has been a consistent bat for the Dores since his arrival in 2011 leading the team in hitting as a freshman and doubles last season. The Carmel, Ind. native has already amassed 135 hits in his first two seasons in Black & Gold.

The Baseball America nod is the second of the preseason for Navin and Kemp, both of which were voted to the second team. Navin enters his junior season after an outstanding 2012 behind the plate for the Commodores. The Des Moines, Iowa native hit .298 with 13 extra-base hits and threw out 20 would-be base stealers. Kemp was once again a catalyst for the Dores as a sophomore leading the squad with 55 runs scored and 21 stolen bases all while making a position change from left field to second base. The speedster from Franklin, Tenn. already shares the school record with 15 triples and is six shy of matching the Southeastern Conference mark.

A third team starting pitcher on the All-America team, Ziomek is coming off a dominating summer in the Cape Cod League. The lefty posted a 1.27 ERA with a 6-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio for Cotuit in five starts. Last season for the Commodores the Amherst, Mass. native led the team in innings pitched with 79.1 innings and fanned 79 batters.

Every year Baseball America surveys major league baseball scouting directors to vote on the teams using on-field performance, talent and professional potential as the criteria.

Opening Day is February 15 at Hawkins Field, where the No. 2 Commodores will host Long Beach State at 4 p.m. The Dores' annual Baseball Banquet is February 9 at the Student Life Center with an autograph session from 6-7 p.m. and dinner to follow.
