As the Commodores open preseason practice this afternoon at Hawkins Field, let's get to know the freshmen class a little better.

The baseball program is all about competing so we came up with the Freshman Roommate Challenge pitting each set of freshman roommates against the others. The Dores' 11-man freshman class is divided across five dorm rooms on campus so today's installment is the first of five. Up first are roommates Luke Stephenson and Kyle Smith. Stephenson is a right-handed pitcher from Fairland, Ind. and Smith is a local product from just down the road at Mt. Juliet High School.
