COACH CORBIN QUOTE: Ryan has an advanced feel of the baseball for a young kid. I would say that he is an anomaly in our program because of the skill set that he possesses. Because of this and his on-field maturity, he will put himself in a position to compete relatively soon. He's a quality young man with an even disposition.

High School - Played for the Cedar Park Timberwolves where he was Newcomer of the Year and second team All-CenTex in 2010... Team won a share of the district championship in 2011-12... Named District 25-4A MVP and second team All-CenTex in 2012... First team pitcher on the All-CenTex team in 2013... Won 19 games in his career and posted a school record 1.04 ERA during the 2013 season.

Academics - Johnson is undecided on a major in his first year at Vanderbilt.

Personal - Ryan Mitchell Johnson... Born 6/30/95 in Austin, Texas... Only child of Steve and Shelley... Favorites include Robinson Cano (baseball player), Texas Rangers (baseball team), MLB The Show (video games), 42 (movie), Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Duck Dynasty (TV shows), steak (meal), Josh Abbott and Florida Georgia Line (musicians), Rice Krispie treats (late night snack), Clear Water, Fla. (vacation spot)... If he were not an athlete he would be a trainer... Lists being a wiffle ball pitcher as his oddest talent... Roommates with Aubrey McCarty... Chose Vanderbilt for "the amazing academics and baseball team."
