Coach Corbin Quote: Drake was an accomplished winning pitcher throughout his amateur years and he has brought that mentality into our program in a quiet natural way. He has good size, manipulates the ball well and has an advanced approach for a young kid. He has advanced his body in the weight room which should benefit him immediately.

2017 - Finished off his first career save with 3.2 innings at Georgia 4/22 in second game of doubleheader to clinch series, allowing two unearned runs on one hit with four strikeouts... Pinned with his second straight loss against Florida 4/15 after allowing six runs, five earned, on four hits over two-plus innings... Made his first career relief appearance against Tennessee Tech 4/11 allowing a hit and punching out two... Took the first loss of his career at South Carolina 4/8 giving up four runs on five hits over 2.2 innings... Failed to get out of the fifth inning for second straight start, pitching 4.2 innings at Kentucky 4/2 and allowing two runs on five hits and three walks in no decision... Gave up a career-high three runs and walked a career-high three over 4.1 innings of no decision at Ole Miss 3/19... Named SEC Freshman of the Week for his stellar start against Saint Mary's 3/12, turning in a career-high eight innings and allowing only one unearned run on two singles with no walks and eight strikeouts, retired 18 straight batters at one point... Earned his second win with six solid innings against CSUN 3/5 allowing one run on eight hits with five strikeouts... Impressed again in a no decision against UIC 2/26 with seven strong innings and a career-best nine strikeouts, allowing two runs on seven hits... Became just the second freshman pitcher in the Corbin era to earn a spot in starting rotation for opening weekend and did not disappoint, turning in six scoreless innings and allowing only two hits and punching out five in win at San Diego 2/19.

High School - Named a 2016 Rawlings-Perfect Game second team All-American... Top-ranked pitcher in Illinois according to Perfect Game... Lettered in baseball and basketball at Joliet Catholic Academy... Hilltoppers claimed the 2014 state title and finished the year ranked 25th in the nation... Named ESCC Pitcher of the Year in 2014 and 2015, earning All-Conference honors both years...
