COACH CORBIN QUOTE: Ty is a very good athlete who can do many things on the baseball field. He is very adept at playing all infield positions and has a speed component to his offensive game as well. He will be utilized in many different ways as we move forward this year. He has a fun personality and is very well liked by his teammates.
2014 - Named to the CWS All-Tournament Team for his heroics over the final five games of the series... Struck out once and went 0-for-4 in title clinching win over Virginia 6/25... Went 0-for-2 with a walk in loss to Virginia 6/24 in CWS Finals... Doubled twice in the third inning, scoring a run and driving in three with his second double in win over Virginia 6/23 in CWS Finals... Played the hero against Texas 6/21 beating out an infield single to drive in winning run and advance VU to CWS Finals... Started at third base and went 2-for-3 with two singles in loss to Texas 6/20 in College World Series... Struck out in his only at-bat at Florida 5/10... Went 0-for-1 off the bench vs. Georgia 4/25... Picked up his first two hits of the season going 2-for-5 with two runs and a RBI-double vs. MTSU 4/15... Fouled out in his only at-bat at Mississippi State 3/21... Started at third base for the first time his career going 0-for-3 with a run scored at Belmont 3/18... Went 0-for-1 with a walk off the bench vs. Eastern Illinois 3/11... Entered as a pinch runner scoring a run in win over Winthrop 3/7... Knocked in the first run of his career with a groundout to first against UIC 2/23... Scored his first run of the season after being hit by a pitch in his lone plate appearance against UIC 2/21... Made his 2014 debut as a pinch hitter at Long Beach State 2/15, grounding out to second.
2013 - Grounded out in his lone at-bat against Presbyterian... Grounded out in his only at-bat against UT-Martin 4/9... Popped up in his lone at-bat against MTSU 4/2... Earned his second start at SS going 1-for-2 with a run scored at Oregon 3/9... Struck out in his lone at-bat against Eastern Illinois 3/5... Earned his first career start getting the nod at SS and going 1-for-3 against Illinois-Chicago 3/3... Flew out to left in only only at-bat against Evansville 2/27... Went 0-for-1 after entering as a defensive replacement late in the game against Monmouth 2/24... Scored two runs and went 1-for-3 in win over Monmouth 2/23... Singled through the left side of the infield for his second career hit against Central Arkansas 2/20... Picked up his first collegiate hit in his first at-bat with a double to left field in win over Long Beach State 2/15.
HIGH SCHOOL- League Player of the Year in 2012... Three-time first team All-State selection and four-time First Team All-League pick... Team won four straight league titles (2009-12)... Captained the baseball team and earned four letters in baseball along with one for basketball... Played with Austin Bar (Stanford).
