2013 High School Winter Prospect Camp - Grades 10-12
The Vanderbilt Baseball Winter Prospect Camp offers a unique baseball learning opportunity for the advanced high school player (grades 10-12) who has aspirations of playing baseball at the highest level (College or Pro). The two-day format is very intense and will have a large emphasis on individual position play, hitting fundamentals, and game experience. Players will also have instruction in strength training and baseball agility exercises. Players will be grouped according to position. Seniors in high school may attend and are encouraged. Enrollment will be limited and is only guaranteed on a first come, first serve basis. Reserve a spot now as the camp will fill quickly! The camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
Players will choose between the following areas to attend:
- Two days of elite professional instruction
- Opportunity to meet, learn and be evaluated by current Vanderbilt Coaches
- Invaluable experience for future baseball success
- Lunch on both days
- Hotel room NOT included
Check in will take place on Saturday morning from 7:30am to 8:20am at Memorial Gym.
Hawkins Stadium is the site of the Vanderbilt Baseball Camp and serves as the home to the Commodores. Now in its 12th season of existence, Hawkins Stadium features a classic ballpark atmosphere coupled with a modern design that includes more than 4,000 seats. Alongside Hawkins Stadium sits the Vanderbilt Baseball Field House (left field line), a Hitting/Training Facility (outside the left field fence) and an Indoor Pitching Center (3rd base concourse). The Field House includes coach's offices, an equipment room, classroom and locker rooms for current players, coaches and professional (alumni) players.
What to Bring:
All Campers must bring their own baseball equipment, which would include: glove, bat, cleats, baseball pants, running shoes/turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided. It is suggested that each player be dressed in baseball uniform. Please keep in mind this is an outdoor camp. Vanderbilt is not liable for the theft or loss of camper's personal property - please label all gear.
