2017 Vanderbilt Baseball Camps

Vanderbilt University provides some of the finest youth and high school baseball camps in the country. Whether you are a young beginner just learning the game, a middle school player ready to take your game up a notch, or a high school player with aspirations of playing at the next level, Vanderbilt baseball has a camp to suit your needs.

Coach Corbin and his staff are present for all camps and take great pride in the quality of instruction, providing a 1-to-8 coach to camper ratio. All camps and clinics are high energy with great attention to detail and safety. This is a baseball opportunity that we feel confident will exceed your expectations. Vanderbilt Baseball 2017 High School Prospect Camp
Ages: 2017-2018 9th-12th Graders
**If your son is currently in the 8th grade, he will be eligible for the High School Prospect Camp. Prospect Camp is for 2017-2018 9th-12th graders **
Dates: Sunday, July 9th to Thursday, July 13th
Cost: $490 for commuters and $590 for overnighters



Vanderbilt Employee Discount
Full Time Vanderbilt employees receive 15% off of the registration cost. When registering, you must add the Summer Camp you wish to register for and the "Vanderbilt Employee Discount" to your cart in order to receive the discount. You must enter a valid Vanderbilt ID.

Check-In
Check-in will take place on Sunday from 12:30-2:30pm at the front entrance of Charles Hawkins Field. After you check in, you will be directed to the residence hall where all overnight campers will be staying. All campers will be asked to meet in the stands by 2:45pm for camp orientation. The camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

Orientation
Orientation will take place at 3:00pm Sunday in the baseball stadium bleachers of Charles Hawkins Field. Parents are invited. Following orientation, camp will proceed into the evening.

Camp Conclusion
Camp will end at 12:00pm on Thursday with an awards ceremony at Charles Hawkins Field - parents are invited. You will check out of the residence hall after the ceremony - this is the conclusion of camp. All campers will be provided with a take away lunch (this lunch is for campers only).

Housing
All overnight campers will be staying on the Vanderbilt University campus. The accommodations will be located in Branscomb Quad, just 200 yards from Hawkins Field.

Facilities - Meals
Hawkins Field will be the site of the High School Prospect Camp. We will also use adjacent fields on the Vanderbilt campus for instruction and game activity. Dinner will be served on Sunday; breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served Monday through Wednesday; and breakfast and lunch will be served on Thursday. Meals will be served by our dining services. Commuters will receive all meals other than breakfast. Please alert us of any food allergies at least two weeks prior to the start of camp so the cafeteria can be prepared.

Overnight Camper FAQ Answers
Yes, there is AC in the dorm rooms. No, there is not a refrigerator in the room. The campers typically order pizza at night and may want to bring cash to cover this. You may bring anything into the dorm (fan, refrigerator, cooler, etc.) but please note that move in/move out will be hectic and you will not want to be bogged down. You are responsible for moving everything in and out on your own.

Roommate Preference
Roommate assignments will be made one week prior to the start of camp. Changes or new requests made after that time cannot be guaranteed. Please list your rooming preference in the "roommate request" field on the registration form. There are two beds per room. We will do our best to accommodate additional friends nearby.

Parents/Coaches Visitation
Parents and coaches are welcome to visit the baseball camp at any time. We request that you stay off the playing field while camp is in session.

Camper Cars
Campers who drive to the Vanderbilt Baseball Camp must park in a designated area (25th Avenue Garage next to Hawkins Field) and turn in their keys to the camp director at registration. Keys will be returned at check out. Campers must pay for parking.

Parking
Campers and parents must park in 25th Avenue Garage. You will have to use the pay machine to pay for your parking space. We cannot guarantee your car is OK if parked anywhere else on campus. We do not hold the authority to have parking tickets dropped.

Lost Keys
If a camper loses his key or access card while at camp, he will be required to pay a fee at check-out to cover the cost. The fee is $50.00 for replacing the key and $35.00 for replacing the access card. The fee is imposed by the Vanderbilt University Housing Department. Lanyards will be provided for the campers to secure their room key and access cards.

Lost or Stolen Personal Items
Vanderbilt is not liable for theft or loss of camper's personal property. It is the responsibility of the individual to keep his doors locked when away from his room. Campers are encouraged not to bring a lot of money or valuable items (TV, speakers, etc.) to camp.

Hotel Information
The Holiday Inn Nashville-Vanderbilt is recommended for parents and/or friends of our campers. The hotel is located on West End Avenue and just 100 yards from Hawkins Field. Call reservations at 615-327-4707 and reference the block code VUB to receive the group rate of $159/night. This block is first come first serve so we encourage you to book early. In the event that the block does not fill, it will expire on Friday, June 9th, 2017.

Goals
The Prospect Camp offers a unique baseball learning opportunity for the high school player who has aspirations of playing baseball at the highest level (college or Pro). The five-day format is very intense with instruction and will have a large emphasis on individual position play, hitting fundamentals and game experience. Players will also have instruction in strength training and baseball agility exercise.

Instruction
Instruction will be directed and conducted by the Vanderbilt coaching staff, headed by Tim Corbin, head coach of the Gold Medal 2006 Team USA, the 2007, 2011 & 2013 SEC Champions, the 2014 National Champions, and the 2015 National Runners-Up. Other instructors at the camp include college coaches, professional players, scouts and top area high school coaches.

Facilities
Hawkins Field is the site of Vanderbilt Baseball Camp and serves as the home to the Commodores. Hawkins Field features a classic baseball park atmosphere coupled with a modern design that includes more than 4,000 seats and a state of the art turf field installed during the summer of 2012. We are currently under construction outside of the left field fence. The new baseball facility will include new batting cages, a state-of-the-art classroom, cardio room, expanded weight room, pro-locker room, recruiting area as well as coaches' and staff offices. Alongside the left field line sits the existing Vanderbilt Baseball Field House and an Indoor Pitching Center is located in the concourse below the football bleachers. The existing Field House will still house the equipment room and locker rooms for current players. Once the project is complete, this second floor of the building will be used primarily to entertain with a hospitality/dining area and a catering kitchen.

Vanderbilt Baseball 2017 Day Camp
Ages: 2017-2018 1st-8th Graders
Dates: Tuesday, June 27th to Friday, June 30th
Cost: $275 per camper, per session



Times
Camp will run from 9:00am to 12 noon each day. If you are dropping off your child at camp, a coach will be on hand to meet your child in front of the stadium. Camp will begin promptly at 9:00am each day - campers should plan to be at the stadium between 8:30 and 8:45am. Camp will conclude at 12 noon each day. You will be required to sign your child out with his coach at the end of each day. Sign out will take place in the outfield of Hawkins Field.

Daily Focus
The Vanderbilt Baseball Camp focuses on fundamentals in a fun and energetic atmosphere. The early part of camp is typically defensive and offensive station work with competitive games following at the end of the morning session.

Goals
The goal of the Vanderbilt Day Camp for the younger players (grades 1-6) is to teach baseball fundamentals in a fun and energetic atmosphere. All players play an active role in camp and are continually involved in drills of all aspects. Participants will generally play in their own age group or grade level. However, we reserve the right to move a camper up in age groups, depending on his ability and skill. The older players in camp (grades 7-8) will focus on baseball fundamentals to help the player prepare for the transition to high school baseball. Emphasis will be on individual position play, hitting fundamentals and game play experience.
