Head coach Tim Corbin on McElvain: “Mac is a bull on the mound. Shows an aggressive attack and is emotionally invested in competition…no fear and wants to be in the fire. He is very intentful with everything that he does. His care level is high and his will to win is right there with it. I am very proud of how he performed academically…maturing very well. He will help us soon.”
As a Freshman (2024)
• Earned first collegiate win at LSU (April 5), tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and two hits allowed
• Allowed just one run on two hits over six innings while striking out five vs. Valparaiso (March 26)
• Four shutout innings vs. Belmont (March 19), striking out three while allowing three hits
• Threw three scoreless innings with six strikeouts vs. Gonzaga (Feb. 24), only allowing one hit
