Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt Head Coach Bobby Johnson will appear this afternoon at 5 p.m. CT in studio with hosts of the popular SportsNight show on WTN FM-99.7 to talk about the upcoming Commodore football season.

Johnson, preparing for his third season at the helm of the Vanderbilt program, will discuss the team with co-hosts Blake Fulton, Joe Biddle and Pete Weber. The coach also will take questions from listeners to the show.

Johnson returns a veteran Vanderbilt squad this season. When the Commodores open preseason drills in August, Johnson expects to have 21 of 22 starters back from 2003, the most of any SEC team. The top returnees are Outland Trophy candidate Justin Geisinger (senior, offensive tackle), Nagurski and Hendricks Award candidate Jovan Haye (junior, defensive end) and three all-SEC prospects – junior quarterback Jay Cutler, junior wide receiver Erik Davis and junior linebacker Moses Osemwegie. The Commodores open the 2004 season at home September 4 against SEC East rival South Carolina. Kickoff for the opener is scheduled at 11:30 a.m., in Vanderbilt Stadium.
