VANDERBILT ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME - CLASS OF 2010
Ernest "Bucky" Curtis (Football, 1947-50)
Ernest "Bucky" Curtis served Vanderbilt well during his four years with the Commodores, cementing himself as one of the nation's elite receivers. He led the nation in several receiving categories and received All-American honors from several outlets in 1950. Curtis knew how to make the big play, averaging an eye-popping 29.3 yards per catch his senior season. He is just one of five Vanderbilt alumni to have won the prestigious NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, honored in 1975. Curtis also distinguished himself with four years of service in the United States Navy.
