Wendy Scholtens Wood (Basketball, 1987-91)
Wendy Scholtens was the first of Vanderbilt's great women's basketball stars. A double-double machine, she was the best scorer and rebounder not just at Vanderbilt, but in the entire Southeastern Conference, leading the Commodores to two Sweet 16 appearances during her college career. The elite center played for the United States national team and also played professionally in Japan before returning to the U.S. and pursuing a law career in her home state of Arkansas.
Holds 15 Vanderbilt women's basketball records, including school's all-time leading rebounder
Averaged most points per game (21.3), most rebounds per game (10.4) and best free throw percentage (.868) during career in Commodore history
Set single-season school scoring record with 855 points in 1989-90 season
