Gunning Named Goalie of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The American Athletic Conference announced Paige Gunning as Goalie of the Week for the first time this season Monday afternoon.

Coming off a 13-save performance on Saturday at Old Dominion, Gunning led the Commodores to their first conference win of the season, taking down the Monarchs, 9-5. Earlier in the week, Gunning registered a game-high nine saves at 22nd-ranked Penn State.

The graduate student is Vanderbilt’s all-time leader with 562 career saves. This season, she has posted 58 saves in eight appearances.

This marks Vanderbilt’s third weekly award this season.

The Dores return to Music City on Wednesday to close the nonconference portion of their schedule against Coastal Carolina. Opening draw is at noon and will be seen on ESPN+.
