Last Friday, the one free day before finals, about 40 Vanderbilt student-athletes took time out to hold their annual holiday party at Ross Elementary School in East Nashville. The party, which usually takes place in Memorial Gym, was moved to the school due to early closings caused by inclement weather, but that did not keep Commodore athletes from spreading holiday joy.

The event started with a huge game of duck-duck-goose until everyone arrived and then it was present time. Each Commodore team looked on as the kids opened gifts, trying to figure out what to play with first.  After a while, it was hard to tell who was having more fun with the remote control helicopters, scooters and basketballs.

Check out the photo gallery to see our student-athletes and the Ross Elementary students having a good time with their new presents.
