Commodore Caravan Crisscrossing State in June

May 17, 2014

Coaches and administrators from Vanderbilt athletics will be making a quick tour of the state in mid-June, meeting with fans, alumni and donors at a series of meet and greet events. The Commodore Caravan, presented by the National Commodore Club, will stop in Memphis and Chattanooga, and fans are invited to come out and meet coaches from a wide array of the Commodore sports teams.

Led by Athletics Director David Williams, the caravan stops will feature opportunities for fans to mix and mingle with coaches, get photos and autographs and also participate in a question and answer session with Williams and a panel of Vanderbilt coaches. The caravan will provide fans from outside Nashville an opportunity to meet football coach Derek Mason for the first time, at any of the three stops. Additionally, basketball coaches Melanie Balcomb and Kevin Stallings, will be among the group of veteran coaches making appearances on the Commodore Caravan. "It is our hope that each year we will continue to add stops to the tour so that we are hitting all areas of state, as well as cities across the country that feature large blocks of Commodore fans."

Fans in the Nashville area will have a chance to meet with Commodore Coaches and Administrators at the annual Dore Jam event on Sunday, August 10, which will be held in the new Multipurpose Facility on campus.
