#SocialSweep: May 6-12

May 13, 2013

What a week! To be honest, the first half of it was pretty tame other than the buzz of Commencement in the air. On Wednesday, baseball faced off against Presbyterian, whose starting pitcher was Tim Corbin. Yes. Tim Corbin like our head coach Tim Corbin, who coincidentally used to coach at Presbyterian.

Friday was a BIG (rainy, of course) day for the entire University, not to mention many student-athletes. At the annual athlete commencement photo shoot, the sense of pride, accomplishment and relief was palpable.

The sports didn't stop for graduation though. Men's Tennis advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2004. Women's Golf clinched a spot in their fourth consecutive NCAA Championship. Track and Field posted its best score at the SEC Championships in eight years.

The weekend was topped off by Vandy Baseball sweeping Kentucky on the road and claiming the SEC regular season title.

Here's our roundup of the fans' coverage of the past week.
