Construction crews continue to work feverishly on Vanderbilt's new multipurpose facility and recreation center expansion.
With each week, interior features become more noticeable and the facility is closer to being completely enclosed.
Among the interior elements that are now visible is the base of the track as well as the small divider wall that will separate the track from the field.
The majority of the work is taking place on the east side of the recreation center, but there is also a lot being done on the west side of the building. One of the most visible additions to the west side of the rec center is the location of the bowling lanes.
Work also continues to progress on the exterior of the multipurpose facility. Sheathing now covers nearly the entire north side of the structure and work on the roof is constantly taking place.
The multipurpose facility is scheduled to open Oct. 31, 2013 with work completed on the recreation center's enhancements in January, 2014.
