Vandy leads East Carolina 5-1 all time

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Brooke Baker led all scorers as Vanderbilt survived a late East Carolina push to win 14-13 on Saturday afternoon.

Vanderbilt (8-6, 2-2) had seven different scorers as Baker registered her third game this season with five goals. Junior Kemper Robinson tallied her fifth hat trick of the season, finishing with three goals, three draw controls, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and one assist. Ella Smith scored twice for the Dores and dished two assists, posted three draw controls and had one caused turnover.

Logan Risenhoover had a season-best two assists and one goal for the Commodores. Molly Finlay, Sammy Nuchow and Anna Taraboletti also scored for Vandy.

East Carolina (3-11, 0-5) scored four straight goals the in third quarter with back-to-back goals coming from Regina Di Chiara. Di Chiara and Emily Stratton led the way for the Pirates, each earning a hat trick. Leah Bestany and Frances Kimel added two goals each. In goal, Brynn Knight made a game-high six saves.

Vandy concludes the road portion of the 2024 season on Saturday traveling to 14th-ranked James Madison. Opening draw is slated for 11 a.m. CT and will be shown on ESPN+.
