Vandy home for two-straight games

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt lacrosse returns to Music City for two consecutive games kicking off on Wednesday as the Commodores host Coastal Carolina to close the nonconference schedule. Opening draw is slated for noon and will air on ESPN+.

Vandy is coming off its first conference win of the season taking down Old Dominion, 9-5, on Saturday. The Dores had two runs of at least four goals that lifted them over the Monarchs. Molly Finlay posted her fifth hat trick of the season to lead all scorers with three goals. Ella Smith found the back of the cage twice while Cate Bradley, Kemper Robinson, Brooke Baker and Molly Krestinski each added one.

Paige Gunning, who was named American Athletic Conference Goalie of the Week, posted 13 saves in the win.

Coastal Carolina (8-4) defeated Liberty 14-9 on Thursday. The Chanticleers were led by Brigid Cardillo who posted six points off four goals and two assists. Sydney McClure dished four assists and had one goal in the win. Avery Snyder also had four assists. In goal, Charlotte Sadler made 15 saves.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two squads in a series that started in 2017. Vanderbilt leads 2-1 all-time, with the Chants’ first win coming last season in a 17-13 decision in Conway.
